A research team from the University of Winnipeg and Ivey Business School is seeking to hire one candidate for a postdoctoral associate for a period of 12 months (from January 1st, 2022 to December 31st, 2022), under a Social Science Research Council (SSRC) grant: Insight Development Grant. The grant is to pursue research on our project entitled Operational Integrity: Construct Development and Performance Measurement.
The research program seeks to advance the Service Management field’s understanding of how organizations improve compliance of their employees and prevent intentional and unintentional failures and how those efforts related to valued outcomes. In particular, our aim is to develop a valid and reliable measure of the key construct of Operational Integrity, which our prior research and publications related to the human failure area in service management and test its association with known constructs including operational risk, operational capabilities, and service quality.
The Postdoctoral Scholar requires strong qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis skills. They must demonstrate experience in using structural equation modelling software, particularly AMOS. The Postdoctoral Scholar will assist the research team in literature survey, instrument development and testing, survey data collection and analysis, and communicating the research findings with the academic community as well as practitioners. Publication activities within the work period are a key achievement. The ideal candidate should have completed a doctoral degree in the business and management field, preferably in a research area related to service management.
Required qualifications:
D. degree in operations management, marketing, or other relevant business fields
Survey instrument development experience
Strong AMOS software skills
Strong academic records and a beginning record of publication
Excellent communications skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team
Ability to interact productively and professionally with a wide range of internal and external collaborators
Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
Strong manuscript writing and grant writing experience with evidence of successful funding in the past are preferred.
