Originally founded in 1957, the Association of Canadian Schools of Commerce and Business Administration had a mission to promote and improve higher education in commerce and business as well as provide a forum for scholarly research. In 1977 the association changed its name to the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC). By the mid-1980s, ASAC was on par with associations such as the US Academy of Management. Today ASAC offers a collegial membership and international conference with twenty interdisciplinary tracks.
