Fewer than 5% of business programs worldwide have been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) – and Lakehead University’s Thunder Bay Campus is one of them. Dynamic, modern, and learner-centred, Lakehead University acknowledges all our students as valued leaders of tomorrow, whose education and success are most paramount to our institution. Both campuses in Thunder Bay and Orillia promise an enriching university experience: a blend of academic excellence and opportunity with a variety of social and recreational activities. Lakehead’s small-class environment balances theoretical learning with practical experience to give our students opportunities not found at other business schools. Lakehead students gain a comprehensive understanding of core business disciplines early on before specializing in a field of study – empowering them to succeed on their own terms.
Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President (Academic), the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration is responsible for the overall management of the Faculty and serves as a strategic and collegial leader to faculty, staff, and students. The Dean contributes to the further development of the Faculty and its programs in research, teaching, and service through a keen understanding of what makes the Faculty both exceptional and unconventional: small classes, emphasized experiential learning, substantial regional impact, and a high degree of contact between students and faculty. The Dean leads the development of and articulates a clear strategic vision for the Faculty and serves as an active and visible ambassador, working closely with internal and external partners and stakeholders, including local business and Indigenous communities.
