Tenure Track Position, Department of Human Enterprise and Innovation, School of Business and Economics – Thompson Rivers University

The Department of Human Enterprise and Innovation, School of Business and Economics (SoBE) invites applications for a tenure-track appointment, open rank in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, with a preferred starting date of July 1st, 2022. In this research position, candidates will maintain an active research agenda while teaching five sections per academic year. We focus on developing a good relationship with our students and to this end our sections are generally less than 40 students. In the first year, the teaching load is reduced by one course. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to teach in a variety of courses related Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

The Department of Human Enterprise and Innovation is seeking high-caliber, original thinkers, and innovators to help us pioneer cutting-edge programs and research in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. This is a rare opportunity to be part of the vanguard in an exciting development at a dynamic, creative, and innovative University. Our quickly growing department is building on the core foundations of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Human Resource Management, and Organizational Behaviour to focus on human centered activities – where creativity, collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking, are key integrated themes in the design and management of dynamic organizations.

The Department of Human Enterprise and Innovation is one of five departments in the School of Business and Economics. It is a highly supportive and collegial team, with nine active full-time faculty members who are innovative teachers and successful researchers publishing in FT50 and other high-ranked journals. The Department manages Major, Minor and post baccalaureate programs in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Human Resource Management, a Minor in Leadership, and is a major contributor to the MBA program. As a group we are also heavily involved with our local indigenous communities through the delivery of academic programs, courses (Graduate and Undergraduate), and practitioner focused workshops.

Qualifications:
SoBE seeks applicants with a strong commitment to excellence in scholarly research and teaching in the field of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. A Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship or a related area is required. The position entails developing and sustaining high-quality teaching and learning environments for students and conducting and publishing rigorous academic research. It is expected that applicants demonstrate the potential to publish in peer-reviewed Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and related business journals. Candidate’s will also make a strong ongoing service contribution to the department, school, university and/or the broader community.

The Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Strategic Human Resources Management as an open rank commencing on July 1st, 2022 or earlier.

Title of position: Professor in Human Resources Management at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The rank is commensurate with experience.

Terms: Tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. Experienced scholars with a demonstrated track record may be considered for a professorship and/or a privately funded chair.

Duties:
a) Teaching activities: Duties of a faculty member will include in varying proportions: a) teaching activities; b) scholarly activities; c) academic service activities; and d) supervision of graduate students.
Candidates must also be capable of teaching many of the undergraduate HR-OB courses we offer as part of the requirement for the CHRP designation.
b) Research activities: Applications are invited from candidates with the ability to provide quality teaching while maintaining an active research agenda in Strategic Human Resources Management
c) Academic service activities as agreed with the Dean.

Preferences:
• We encourage applications from candidates with demonstrated expertise in the area of performance metrics and the digital transformation of HR, as well as those with an understanding of how environmental sustainability needs to become integrated into those performance metrics (due to Telfer’s strategic interest in Globalization, Governance and Sustainability).
• However, all highly qualified candidates with expertise in Strategic HRM who can teach our core CHRP-required courses are encouraged to apply and will be given due consideration.

Requirements:
• Education: Ph.D. in a related management discipline.
• Language: English and/or French. At the time of tenure, a minimum passive knowledge of the other official language is required. The ability to speak and teach in both official languages is an asset.
• Work experience: A high-potential research program as demonstrated by articles published in high quality and high impact peer-reviewed journals in the area of Strategic Human Resources Management. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a track record of success in attracting competitive research funding and active engagement in the academic community.

Salary and Benefits Package:
Salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience where Assistant Professor salaries typically range between $94,000 and $130,000 per year, Associate Professors salaries range between $140,000 and $166,000, and Full Professors salaries range between $165,000 and $201,000 per year. The University of Ottawa provides a complete and generous compensation package which includes long-term disability, basic group life insurance, supplementary health insurance, a University of Ottawa defined benefits pension plan, optional life insurance and funds for reimbursement of eligible moving expenses. Faculty Lecturer, Organizational Behaviour Area, Desautels Faculty of Management – McGill University

The Organizational Behaviour area in the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University is recruiting for one Faculty Lecturer (Contract Academic Staff) with a primary duty to teach. Candidates must hold a graduate degree, as well as degrees in Canadian common law and civil law. Candidates must be a member of the bars of Quebec and Ontario. Candidates must have at least 3 years of university-level teaching experience in employment law and labour law and must be able to demonstrate teaching effectiveness. Candidates must be bilingual. Candidates must possess strong organizational skills and expert knowledge of Canadian law, particularly Canadian employment law and labour law.

This CAS appointment will assume their main responsibility in teaching courses in the area of Labour Law and Employment Law to an audience of undergraduate and graduate students at both the Desautels Faculty of Management and the Law Faculty at McGill University.

Les candidats doivent avoir un diplôme d’études supérieures (maîtrise ou doctorat) en relations industrielles, en relations de travail, en gestion des ressources humaines ou dans un domaine connexe. L’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) détient une renommée internationale. L’École des sciences de la gestion (ESG) est la plus grande faculté de l’UQAM et compte 300 professeures, professeurs, 3 chaires de recherche du Canada, 12 chaires de recherche en partenariat, 6 centres de recherche interuniversitaires. Le Département d’organisation et ressources humaines de l’École des sciences de la gestion regroupe quarante-cinq professeures, professeurs provenant d’horizons disciplinaires variés tels que la gestion des ressources humaines, le comportement organisationnel, les relations du travail, la psychologie industrielle et organisationnelle, le développement organisationnel et la gestion des entreprises sociales et collectives.

SOMMAIRE DE LA FONCTION
Le contexte organisationnel actuel teinté notamment par les nouvelles technologies, l’intelligence artificielle et la situation actuelle de l’emploi maintient, voire accroît, les besoins de formation et d’accompagnement des employées, employés et des gestionnaires. Au niveau organisationnel, l’apprentissage organisationnel et le transfert de connaissances représentent des enjeux de taille. Le Département d’organisation et ressources humaines, reconnu pour sa multidisciplinarité, désire s’adjoindre une ressource professorale dont les intérêts en enseignement et en recherche s’inscrivent dans ces enjeux et qui saura assumer les fonctions suivantes :
– Enseignement et encadrement aux trois cycles d’études en gestion de la formation/coaching et endéveloppement organisationnel
– Recherche en développement humain et organisationnel
– Services à la collectivité (activités contribuant au fonctionnement de l’université et à sonrayonnement dans le milieu)

EXIGENCES
– Doctorat en administration ou en psychologie organisationnelle, ou l’équivalent, et dont la thèseou les recherches récentes couvrent des dimensions du développement humain et organisationnel
– Habileté à enseigner aux trois cycles en gestion de la formation/coaching et en développementorganisationnel ainsi que dans des domaines connexes démontrée par des évaluationsd’enseignement
– Expérience et qualité des réalisations en recherche dans le domaine du développement humainet organisationnel démontrées par des publications
– Capacité à diffuser ses résultats de recherches telle que démontrée par des publications et descommunications scientifiques et de transfert des connaissances
– Expertise dans le domaine professionnel du développement humain et organisationnel
– Habileté à s’intégrer à une équipe départementale multidisciplinaire
– Habileté et intérêt pour le travail en équipe
– Capacité démontrée en ce qui a trait à l’autonomie, la gestion de soi, de son temps ainsi que du respect de l’éthique professionnelle
– Maîtrise du français parlé et écrit
