QUALIFICATIONS:

• An MBA or a Master’s degree in general business management is required.
• A Ph.D. degree in business management is preferred.
• Either extensive University level teaching experience in business management area or strong practical and relevant business management/consulting experience in a managerial or executive role, is required.
• Ability to teach a variety of business management topics is preferred.
• Strong computer skills are required.

Tier 2 Canada Research Chair position, Disruptive Pedagogies, Athabasca University

Athabasca University (AU) invites applications for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in the diverse and interdisciplinary field of Disruptive Pedagogies beginning in July 2020. AU seeks an exceptional emerging scholar with demonstrated potential for leadership and international recognition for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. AU requires the successful candidate to have a PhD in a relevant field and applicants should bring an original program of research, a commitment to transfer knowledge, capacity to receive external funding as well as the potential for building successful research teams.

Disruptive Pedagogies is one of four broad themes identified in AU’s Strategic Research Plan and advances pedagogical theory and practice by calling into question traditional views of education and training, including commonly held assumptions about how people learn and how learning can be nurtured and measured. The theme is broad to allow researchers from a wide range of disciplines to apply. This theme embraces a divers spectrum of topics, including but not limited to best practices in the design and delivery of open, digital, distributed and blended learning across educational settings and learners’ lifespans, with a particular emphasis on the measurement of learning outcomes and the use of non-traditional means to credential learning. It also addresses emerging technologies (e.g. artificial intelligence, augmented reality, immersive learning, gaming, learning analytics, robotics, virtual reality) and their potential for personalizing individual learning experiences based on specific learning styles and needs. 

The Canada Research Chair Program program seeks to attract and retain a diverse cadre of world-class researchers to reinforce academic research and training in Canadian postsecondary institutions. Tier 2 Chairs are intended for exceptional emerging scholars (i.e. candidates must have been an active researcher in their field for fewer than 10 years at the time of nomination). Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Professional Studies, the Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the School’s operations and leading a dynamic team of staff and faculty members. Working with Area Chairs for each major/discipline in the School, the Director manages curriculum and program development, program management, timetabling, staffing (Including faculty and sessional instructor recruitment), budgeting, educational planning, enrolment management, strategic planning, Chandigarh campus collaboration and community partnership building. 

The Director participates in the administration of the Faculty of Professional Studies through collaboration with the Dean and Associate Dean, and membership on the Professional Studies Heads and Directors Team. Working with a diverse range of students, including Indigenous and International students, the Director also has the responsibility to encourage high-quality teaching, learning, scholarship and service within the School. As a leader, the Director will build and maintain relationships within the School and the University. Awareness regarding the use of evidence-based teaching and accessibility principles to optimize learning for all people (e.g. Universal Design for Learning, Principles of Accessibility) is an asset.

The successful candidate will possess a PhD in a business or management-related discipline from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited institution together with five years of relevant business education experience. The successful candidate will have a commitment to Indigenization and a strong track record of: 
• scholarship and teaching experience at an accredited public post-secondary institution;
• successful academic or professional administration experience; and 
• academic program development. 

The candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills that include effective communication, planning and program administration, and conflict resolution skills. Experience in managing or supporting a formal program or institution accreditation process would be an asset.

Tenured or Advanced Tenure-Track Professor, Management for Sustainability, Desautels Faculty of Management – McGill University

The Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University is recruiting a tenured professor in management for sustainability. Assistant Professors with an established record of research excellence through publication in top-tier academic journals and who possess a strong record for teaching and academic service are also invited to apply. Sustainability scholarship is highly diverse and in many cases interdisciplinary. The management for sustainability position at Desautels is therefore open to candidates from all academic areas of management (Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Marketing, Operations Management, Organizational Behaviour, Strategy and Organization) as well as from adjacent disciplines (e.g. economics and sociology). While the recruitment process is cross-disciplinary, the successful candidate will be affiliated with a specific functional area. In addition to leading their personal research agenda, the incoming faculty member will lead the Managing for Sustainability programs at the BCom level. Il enrichira de son savoir-faire les activités existantes et leur donnera un nouveau souffle, tout en mettant en place des initiatives d’enseignement, de recherche et de sensibilisation en matière de durabilité. L’enseignement se fait en anglais, mais la connaissance du français ou la volonté d’apprendre cette langue est souhaitable. Le mandat débute au plus tôt le 1er août 2019.

La Faculté de gestion Desautels de l’Université McGill (www.mcgill.ca/desautels) offre une atmosphère axée sur la collaboration et la recherche. Tenure Track Position, Business Analytics, Cape Breton University

CBU invites applications for a tenure-track position in Business Analytics at the rank of Assistant Professor to commence July 2019 (or shortly thereafter).
