The School of Business offers a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration degree with several majors and minors, two-year diploma programs and 1-year certificates. The School currently has a complement of 28 full-time faculty members and an average enrollment of 6,500 students. The School of Business also offers the Bachelor of Business Administration program in Chandigarh, India, a one of a kind Canadian post-secondary institution on Indian soil that offers applied North American curriculum taught by a mix of International and Indian faculty.

UFV’s School of Business invites applicants for the full-time position of Director. This is a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in the School of Business with a five-year term as Director.
Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Professional Studies, the Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the School’s operations and leading a dynamic team of staff and faculty members. Working with Area Chairs for each major/discipline in the School, the Director manages curriculum and program development, program management, timetabling, staffing (Including faculty and sessional instructor recruitment), budgeting, educational planning, enrolment management, strategic planning, Chandigarh campus collaboration and community partnership building.
The Director participates in the administration of the Faculty of Professional Studies through collaboration with the Dean and Associate Dean, and membership on the Professional Studies Heads and Directors Team. Working with a diverse range of students, including Indigenous and International students, the Director also has the responsibility to encourage high-quality teaching, learning, scholarship and service within the School. As a leader, the Director will build and maintain relationships within the School and the University. The Director is responsible for representing the School at the institutional and inter-institutional level, and within the wider external community, as well as Internationally including travel to UFV India in Chandigarh. Participation on institutional committees, service contributions, and ongoing professional development is an expectation. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the School contributes to the fulfillment of UFV’s strategic directions and Education Plan priorities.

Qualifications
Experience and interest in developing entrepreneurial and innovative experiential learning opportunities, including community-student partnerships, internships, study abroad and co-curricular activities is highly desirable. Demonstrable experience in technology-supported learning environments (e.g., hybrid, on-line, experiential, and computer-assisted learning) and innovative inter-disciplinary teaching environments would be an asset. Experience and interest in interdisciplinary and cross-Faculty collaborations is also highly desirable. Awareness regarding the use of evidence-based teaching and accessibility principles to optimize learning for all people (e.g. Universal Design for Learning, Principles of Accessibility) is an asset.
The successful candidate will possess a PhD in a business or management-related discipline from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited institution together with five years of relevant business education experience. The successful candidate will have a commitment to Indigenization and a strong track record of:
• scholarship and teaching experience at an accredited public post-secondary institution;
• successful academic or professional administration experience; and
• academic program development.
The candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills that include effective communication, planning and program administration, and conflict resolution skills. Experience in managing or supporting a formal program or institution accreditation process would be an asset.
