The Peter B. Gustavson School of Business invites applications from talented Indigenous scholars to fill a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Indigenous Entrepreneurship. The appointment will begin on July 1, 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. Indigenous scholars with a PhD or who are near to completing a PhD in Business, Management, Entrepreneurship or a related academic discipline are strongly encouraged to apply

We seek an energetic and dynamic scholar with demonstrated potential for leadership and international recognition in the field of indigenous entrepreneurship, management and social innovation. A demonstrated ability to develop and sustain generative partnerships with Indigenous communities and prior experience in teaching Indigenous students are considered assets. We are particularly interested in applicants whose research and teaching interests complement and connect with the strengths of current faculty in the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business.
Candidates must have a demonstrated excellence in teaching business and management related subjects. Candidates should also have a strong research pipeline with high quality scholarly papers targeted to elite management journals, and a demonstrated track record of, or interest in, supervision of PhD students.
The successful candidate will contribute to and reinforce our growing reputation in co-designing, with Indigenous Communities, innovative programs of Indigenous Entrepreneurship education and research. Our Aboriginal Canadian Entrepreneurs (ACE) program, was recently awarded two top global prizes by (1) the International Business Education Network in Oslo, Norway and (2) EFMD Global in Brussels, Belgium for its partnerships and innovative delivery of business skills training in British Columbia’s Indigenous communities. Gustavson’s Executive Programs, in partnership with TRICORP, delivers the Canadian Aboriginal Management Program which provides essential training for Canada’s AFI’s and Indigenous economic development leaders. The successful candidate will join our growing cluster of experts in Indigenous Entrepreneurship research and education including Dr. Brent Mainprize, Dr. Matt Murphy and Dr. Brock Smith.
Gustavson is one of the few North American schools that is accredited by both the European Federation of Management Development (EQUIS) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
