McGill’s Desautels Faculty of Management invites applications for one or more Assistant Professor tenure-track positions in the Finance Area, pending budget approval. The start date for the position is August 1, 2023. Candidates must have (or be near completion) of a Ph.D. Applicants demonstrating outstanding potential who are doctoral students and plan to have completed the requirements for their Ph.D. by December 2023 will also be considered. The positions are open to candidates in any area of specialization within finance with preference given to candidates whose research is in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship, sustainable finance and climate-related financial issues, equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), or artificial intelligence and/or digital technologies.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to advance a cutting-edge, compelling, and impactful research agenda. The ideal candidate will have evidence of effective teaching, an experience-appropriate record of research, and clear promise of conducting innovative and important research publishable in top finance journals such as those listed on the Desautels 22 (https://www.mcgill.ca/desautels/research/desautels-top-tier-publications). Successful candidates are also expected to work actively with doctoral students, to teach in our undergraduate and graduate programs, and contribute to the administration of the Area and Faculty. Teaching is done in English, but knowledge of French or a willingness to learn French is desirable.
