This year’s theme, “The World Needs More Canada,” speaks to all ASAC divisions, inviting reflection on the role of business scholarship and academia in fostering dialogue, collaboration, evidence based thinking, and the exchange of ideas at a time of growing geopolitical uncertainty, conflict, and social division. The theme reflects qualities that help academic and business communities thrive: openness, inclusiveness, mutual respect, curiosity, collaboration, evidence based inquiry, and a willingness to engage thoughtfully, even when we disagree. It invites participants to consider how these qualities may inform the way we study, lead, and manage organizations in an increasingly complex and interconnected world, while leaving room for different interpretations, critical reflection, and debate. At ASAC 2027, you’ll find a community ready to share ideas, challenge assumptions, and build connections across disciplines and perspectives. Submit to ASAC 2027

We welcome submissions on the conference theme, The World Needs More Canada, and anything relevant to one of our divisions. Read our submission guidelines and policies before submitting.

Papers

ASAC will accept original papers, written in English or French and not previously published elsewhere. All contributions will be peer reviewed.

Works in Progress

ASAC invites you to submit your work-in-progress and receive support from your colleagues in developing your paper. Work-in-progress submissions, written in English or French, should be 1,200 – 1,500 words (excluding references), must include references, and should otherwise follow the formatting of a paper submission. All accepted “Works-in-Progress” will be presented at the conference as a poster or included in a roundtable session.

Posters

Poster submissions are essentially works in progresses that will give authors the opportunity to showcase their work or emerging ideas at a conference-wide networking session. Authors interested in this opportunity should submit as a work in progress and indicate on their submission that they wish to have their work considered for a poster. Each division will select their top work-in-progress submission to present at the poster networking event, in addition to presenting within the divisional program. We will share guidelines for developing posters with those who are selected, along with a timeline for submitting their poster so we can facilitate printing. Posters will need to include a short introduction (setting the context, identifying the research gap and contribution), methodology, preliminary results (if applicable), and implications.

Please refer to the case division submission guidelines. The case division invites both English and French submissions, in either the regular or cases in development streams.

Workshops

Members interested in organizing a workshop, in English or French, should submit a proposal according to the Workshop submission instructions on the submission guidelines page. Proposals can be submitted to one division only.

ASAC relies on the collegiality of its members to provide insightful and meaningful feedback to elevate the conference experience for everyone. By becoming a reviewer, you get to:

Submitting authors will be asked to participate as reviewers.

To register as a reviewer, log in to your user account on X-CD and enter the Abstract Submission Center. On your Submission Home page, locate the Participation Requirement section and click the link. You will be redirected to the reviewer sign-up page. Complete the form and click Submit Form at the bottom of the page to finalize your registration.

Doctoral Consortium

The doctoral consortium at ASAC offers a comprehensive series of sessions designed to support business students, PhDs, and recent graduates in launching and developing their careers in business management research and academics. With expert-led workshops, interactive discussions, and networking opportunities, attendees will gain valuable insights and skills to excel in their field.

Job Market

This special program is an excellent opportunity for PhD candidates and early career scholars to launch their careers. It’s also an ideal way for business schools and faculties to encounter top talent!

CJAS Fast Track to Publication

To recognize outstanding research and offer a direct path to fast-track publication, meritorious papers submitted to ASAC 2027 may be exclusively invited to submit for publication in a special edition of the Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences (CJAS). The editorial committee will review these top papers, along with the feedback they receive through the conference submission process, and will extend invitations with revise and resubmit opportunities for publication.

Indigenous Colloquium

ASAC has committed to fostering an ongoing conversation and creating space to the important conversation about Indigenizing business schools across Canada. Our 2027 Indigenous Colloquium is organised in partnership with Luminary. We look forward to sharing more details and providing a platform to bring people together around this subject every year to keep the momentum going for positive steps towards Reconciliation.
