The Strategy, Entrepreneurship & International Business Department (SEIB) in the Faculty of Management, Dalhousie University, invites applications for a three-year limited-term appointment in Business Law at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, starting August 1, 2025 (negotiable).
The ideal candidate will demonstrate potential for teaching excellence and a dedication to student success, while upholding values of equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching. The successful candidate must have a graduate degree in law or a membership in the Bar of a Canadian common law province. This is a position with a strong emphasis on high-quality teaching, and evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level is an important asset. The successful candidate will be expected to teach multiple sections of courses in business law and be asked to engage in additional research or service contributions to the Faculty, primarily related to business law, teaching and learning. The successful applicant will also be expected to contribute to the academic life of the Dept. Candidates must be able to meet the Faculty’s accrediting body’s (AACSB) qualification requirements.
Required qualifications, experience, and skills:
– A bachelor’s degree in Law;
– A master’s degree in Law or membership in the Bar of a Canadian common law province;
– Established record of teaching excellence in relevant courses, and promise of teaching excellence in the case of early career individuals or individuals outside of academia.
– Evidence of efforts to foster safer spaces for equity-deserving groups;
– Experience teaching larger introductory undergraduate courses;
– Experience with online teaching and pedagogical innovation.
