The Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University is accepting applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the field of operations management. The start date is scheduled for August 1, 2027. The position is open to candidates who hold a Ph.D. in a field related to operations management, specifically in data analytics related to operations management or operations research (e.g., revenue management, supply chain management, sustainable operations, big data analytics), as well as Ph.D. students in one of these fields who demonstrate outstanding potential and are expected to complete their degree by December 2027. We are specifically seeking candidates whose research and teaching focus on analytics, artificial intelligence, and cutting-edge digital technologies; innovation and entrepreneurship; sustainable development; or equity, diversity, and inclusion. The successful candidate must be able to teach courses in data analysis, such as data mining, machine learning or deep learning, predictive analytics, computational programming, and data visualization. They must also be capable of conducting a compelling, cutting-edge research program with significant impact. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the effectiveness of their teaching methods, present a record of research publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals reflecting relevant experience, and show a clear commitment to conducting significant, innovative research in operations management that will be published in reputable management journals such as those listed in the Desautels 22. Above all, we are seeking someone whose expertise lies in data-driven research. We welcome applications from individuals in related disciplines, including statistics, economics, and computer science, provided that their research is largely focused on operations management. The successful candidate will also be expected to work actively with doctoral students, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and contribute to the administration of the department and the Faculty. McGill University is an English-language institution where the majority of teaching and research activities are conducted in English. Proficiency in English is therefore essential for oral and written communication, but knowledge of French or a willingness to learn French is desirable. Compensation, teaching load, research funding, and travel support are competitive and determined based on the candidate’s experience.
